Christmas Card Display

Here is a quick and easy way to display your holiday cards:

I already had the tree farm sign, purchased the (awesome) yarn and mini clothespins, and taped the yarn to the back of the sign. I added small knots randomly down the yarn to add a little dimension. Once I started adding more cards, each strand of yarn became pretty heavy. So make sure you secure the yarn tightly.

This is the yarn I used- of course it's Martha! It comes in 5 different colors. I need an excuse to buy more!

Mason Jar Snow Globes

Have you seen these adorable mason jar snow globes from Anthropologie? I thought they were a perfect DIY project for the holidays and a decoration that could last through the winter...

This is a picture of the snow globes from Anthropologie
Pinned Image
Here are my own creations!

And I couldn't resist sharing a pic of my favorite little winter owl!

And of course my bird and birch candles...

The snow globes were soooo easy to make!
Here's what you'll need:
-mason jars (I did a large and small size)
-tiny fake trees
-fake snow and/or glitter
-glue gun

Glue the trees to the inside of the bottom of the mason jar lid. Fill the jar with snow and glitter (I also added a couple branch pieces I already had to the larger jar). Put lid on. Turn jar over and you have yourself a pretty little snowy jar! I'm in love! And the project was less than $15. Now that's what I'm talkin about!

{our own little gingerbread house}

Hanging Christmas lights for the first time on our first home felt like a huge milestone for us...something Ben has waited a long time for! (And worked his butt off for!!!) We went with the old school traditional colored lights; we hear they are making a comeback. ;)
He's so cute! (And of course, I couldn't really help because climbing up a ladder scares the crap out of me...even if it is just one story! lol)
And we have lights people! I kind of like how this picture is blurred.
 Ok, much better. pretty pretty!
I think it looks like a little Gingerbread House! Kinda like the picture below. Cookies I made for a housewarming party...then dolled up the extras with some Christmas fanciness!
I hope you are planning to make some holiday cookies this year! I will be posting some pictures from the Cupcake and Cookie Decorating classes soon!

Pom Pom Pinecones

I knew I had to make some of these as soon as I saw this picture from The Wool Acorn. Isn't this so cute?!

Here are a few pics of the pinecones I made. I used mini pom poms instead of wool.

Such an easy project and adds a little color to the mantel. I love them!

I heart Christmas!

I can't believe that tomorrow will be December 1st!!! I LOVE decorating for Christmas and now that we finally have our own home it is even more fun! However, an expensive and fancy wreath is not in the budget so....I decided to use a plain wreath as a base that I could change out decorations for every season or holiday! I bought the grapevine wreath from Joann's for about $5.00 and bought a variety of 50% off holiday decorations from Michaels. Below is the wreath I decorated for the fall and then the Christmas version. Oh, and I love birds so I thought it would be fun to add a different little birdie for each season!

This time of year is perfect for crafting; when it's cold and windy out and you just want to lounge in your sweats! I have so many ideas and can't wait to try them all! And after 2 days in a row of trips to Michaels with my mom, I have plenty to work on! I would love to see any of your holiday crafting ideas!

Giving Thanks

I don't know about you but I LOVE anything pumpkin! And this pumpkin roll recipe I tried out for Thanksgiving this year did not only look beautiful but tasted delicious as well! And it really is super easy to make! (Even if it doesn't look like it!!! I swear it is!) You can find the recipe here!

And for those of you who look at that picture & think "yeah right!"- Trader Joe's Pumpkin Bread and Muffin mix is Ahhhhmazing! Seriously! I like to make it as a bread and add chocolate chips! (The only way Ben will eat it!)

I am NOT a baker who objects to and is horrified by boxed cake mixes, especially when they are delicious! So why try to fix something that's not broken???!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have very much to be thankful for; I know I do! :)

Thank you to my family & friends who made this Thanksgiving so much fun!
